You won't have to look far to find convenient, safe and accessible parking facilities the next time you're either visiting or doing business downtown Kitchener. We offer more than 3,400 off-street parking spaces in and around our city's core - and more than 300 free two-hour on-street parking spaces.

We also manage 15 municipal car parks and five parking structures, offering reasonable rates to downtown drivers.

Our main objectives for all of our parking facilities are to provide:

  • A rate structure that is reasonable competitive for users;
  • A combination of short- and long-term parking spaces to meet the overall parking demand; and
  • Reliable entrance and exit equipment. This includes our state-of-the-art automated payment collection systems at all of our indoor parking structures. The equipment is centrally located in facility, eliminating line-ups and offering users more flexibility in payment options.

Parking Facilities - August 31, 2020
Effective Saturday, August 1, 2020 the Parking Enterprise will resume normal operations in all garage facilities, surface lots and on-street meters spaces except the City Hall garage. The City Hall garage is currently closed to the general public and will continue to be closed at this time. Only monthly permit holders or persons who have made on-line appointments at City Hall will have access to this garage. 
Duke & Ontario Garage - August 11, 2020
Commencing on or about August 17, 2020, there will be some localized concrete and waterproof membrane replacement work completed at the Duke & Ontario Garage for a duration of approximately eighteen weeks. The completion of the waterproofing wear course will necessitate the closure of some sections of the garage including the helical ramp. 
Parking Facilities - March 17, 2020
Effective Monday, April 6, 2020 the Parking Enterprise will resume operations, as parking facilities are a necessary support for essential services. The City Hall, Civic District and Kitchener Market garages are currently closed to the general public and will continue to be closed. Only monthly permit holders will have access to these garages. The Charles & Benton and Duke & Ontario garages will return to normal operational status. In addition, all surface lots and metered spaces will become active.

Parking downtown can be easy and inexpensive when you plan ahead. Use our online guide to find parking options near your destination.

Also, keep in mind, parking for two hours or less at any of the following four structures costs just $3.20:

  • City Hall Garage
  • Duke and Ontario Garage
  • Kitchener Market Garage
  • Charles and Benton Garage

While your first two half (2) hours (30 mins.) of parking costs just $1.05 per half hour at our Civic District parking structure, which is adjacent to the Kitchener Public Library - Central Branch.

Monthly parking pre-authorized payment plan

Paying for your monthly parking permit is easy and worry free when you set up pre-authorized monthly payments.

Payment is automatically withdrawn from a chequing account you have with a financial institution, on the 10th day of each month, and credited to your parking account. This service is free of charge; however, other bank charges may apply.
